Barbara H. Edwards, 96, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on Oct. 14, 2009 at Bickford Cottage in Omaha. She was born March 24, 1913 in Hepburn, Iowa to Carl Victor (C.V.) & Maud Edith (Stuart) Hull.
Barbara was united in marriage to Don George Edwards on April 2, 1929 in Glenwood, Iowa. She had an interesting job in the early 1950’s and 60’s of tracking aircraft from a tower north of Glenwood as they approached Offutt Air Force Base. Barbara became the owner of Cathryn’s Style Shop in Glenwood until the mid 1970’s. Following her retirement, she commented on how she was going to read every book of her interests in the Glenwood Public Library and it was thought that she accomplished this goal. Along with her love for reading, she enjoyed fishing, counted cross-stitch, feeding the birds and squirrels and nature walking at the Glenwood Lake Park. Her family was very special to her and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, husband, son, Philip Edwards in 2002, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Dona & husband Don Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of friends.
