Dorothy Alvena Roenfeldt, 98, of Glenwood, Iowa entered into eternal rest on Oct. 30, 2011 in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born Feb. 16, 1913 in Mineola, Iowa to Elmer & Ida (Mass) Deitchler. Dorothy was united in marriage to Paul Rudolph Roenfeldt on March 30, 1932 in Mineola, Iowa. To this union three daughters were born, Marlene, Eloise and Karen.

Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker and took good care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, working in her yard, bowling and playing pitch. Dorothy was also a talented seamstress. She was a 4-H Leader and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church as well as Ladies Aid.

Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, husband Paul in 1983, 2 brothers and 2 son-in-laws. She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Sell, Eloise Wright, Karen & husband Eldon Smith all of Glenwood, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; extended relatives and many friends.

    I am so sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing! I always enjoyed visiting with her at Glen Haven and over the years.
