Franklin Deleno Stotts, 71, of Riverton, IA, formerly of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2007 at his home in Riverton, IA. He was born October 29, 1936 in Sidney, IA to Roy & Bertha (Loury) Stotts. Frank graduated for Sidney High School in 1956. He was an avid football player and walked five miles home after practice so he could play. He participated in the Rodeo Arena. Frank was active in FFA and the National Guard.
Frank was united in marriage to Darlene Peterson on December 22, 1959 in Pacific Junction, IA. From the union five children were born, Julia Ann, Diana Marie, Loura Le, Pamala Jo and Douglas Brian. The family resided in Council Bluffs, IA and later in Denmark, IA and then settled in Glenwood, IA. Frank was later united in marriage to Myra Kay Tanner on October 9, 1987 in Yankton, SD. The couple resided in Glenwood, IA before moving to their present home in Riverton, IA on October 28, 2006.
Frank’s brother Jack gave him the knowledge to help begin his contracting career, he then worked for Lloyd Banks Construction in Glenwood,, IA before becoming self-employed. Following, he drove a truck from 1980-90 and then at that time returned to contracting. He retired in 2000 and returned to contracting until May of 2007. He was a no-nonsense individual and an extremely hard worker. His interest included farming, fishing, mushroom hunting, raising cows, country music, and shows in Branson, MO. His greatest love was his family; especially his grandchildren.
Preceding Frank in death; were his parents Roy & Bertha Stotts, brother Ralph Stotts, and sister Shirley Gray. He is survived by his wife Myra Stotts of Riverton, IA; Children, Julia Ann & husband Roger McQueen of Shenandoah, IA and their children, Wayland Ryan McQueen and Kelly McQueen; Diana Marie & husband Dan Dix of Humboldt, IA & their children Angela & David Maxweel & Tyler Dix; Loura Le & husband Steven Petsche of Council Bluffs, IA & their children Jeremy & Stephanie Petsche; Pamala Jo & husband Rob Kasl of Belleville, KS & their children John Coenen & Nicki & Austin Kasl; Douglas Brian & Dori Stotts of Chapman, KS & their children Layne Stotts, Alyssa & Parker Stotts; step-grandchildren; Dakota and Shay Hoekman; Step-children Cindy Kruger of Auburn, NE; Wendy Rowell of Brownville, NE; Shelly Dettmann of Stella, NE; Step-grandchildren Cory Jeanneret, Jenny Eitzman, Chad Kruger, Melanie McMann, Kendra McMann, Dusty Kologenski, Austin Dettmann & Nathan Dettmann. Brothers and Sisters Mary Lewis of Council Bluffs, IA, Evelyn & husband Harry Pontious of Shenandoah, IA, Jack & wife Maxine Stotts of Denmark, IA, Robert Stotts of Shenandoah, IA; Barbara Sue & husband Malcom Cochran of Glenwood, IA, many Nieces, Nephews, extended relatives and host of friends.
