Fred Morrow, 96, of Montrose, Colorado, formerly of South Gate, California and Pacific Junction, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on October 15, 2008 at Heidi’s Assisted Living where he resided for the last 5 months.

Fred was born on March 29, 1912 in Pacific Junction, Iowa to Howard and Jennie (Hench) Morrow. He grew up on the family farm and went to Pacific Junction’s one room schoolhouse.

In 1936, he moved to California. Fred served in the U.S. Navy as a Storekeeper First Class on the U.S.S. Dickens in World War II. After the war, he resided in South Gate, California and worked as a Warehouseman for 38 years.

In 2006, Fred moved to Montrose, Colorado to live with his daughter, Pamela and her husband, David. He always said it was like being back in Iowa. He truly enjoyed living in the country watching the cows, horses and wildlife.

Fred is survived by his two daughters, Marcia Morrow, Pamela and her husband David La Pointe, two grandsons, and their wives, four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
