Iola Marie Homan, 93, of Pacific Junction, IA entered into eternal rest on Oct. 30, 2011 at her home in Pacific Junction, IA. She was born Feb. 26, 1918 in Hastings, IA to Archer & Mary Ethel (McReynolds) Phillips. She graduated from Oakland High School in 1936.

Iola retired from Western electric at the age of 62 following a 20 year career. She enjoyed a number of interests, including crocheting, bird watching and gardening. Her greatest passion was quilting. She made many quilts over the years and took great pleasure in sharing her creations with family and friends.

Preceding Iola in death were her parents, husband, Robert Homan; brother, Robert Phillips; grandson, Robert Lee Andersen, Jr.; sons-in-law, Robert Andersen and Jesse Warren; two infant children Milo Allen & Rita Ruth Foster. She is survived by her son, Randy & wife Marie Foster of Oakland, IA; daughters, Melva Andersen of Sidney, IA; Sheri & husband Lawrence Tibbles of Oakland, IA; Lina Warren & Richard Brown of Council Bluffs, IA; Lorna & husband Eugene Letak of Mauldin, S.C.; 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren; brother, Archie Phillips; sisters, Charlotte Atchison & Doris Phillips; sister-in-law, Dorothy Phillips of Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.

    My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I am so happy that I got to spend some time with Iola recently. I also remember coming to the house when I was a little girl and being amazed at the sight of all of her birds. She has left an imprint in so many hearts.
