A memorial fund has been established.

INTERMENT: Martin Chapel Cemetery, Pacific Junction, Iowa at a later date.

James “Jim” Marquis Wingfield, 67, of Pacific Junction, IA entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2009 at Hospice With Heart in Glenwood, IA. He was born Feb. 7, 1942 in Mills County, IA to Robert Nelson & Helen Catherine (Lincoln) Wingfield. He graduated from Pacific Junction High School in 1960. Jim faithfully served his country in the Army during Vietnam and was decorated with a Purple Heart.

Jim was united in marriage to Shelly Fast on Jan. 2, 1970 in Denison, IA. To this union two sons were born, Richard and Scott. Jim was employed with the Glenwood Resource Center and enjoyed helping the Lincoln family farm. His many interests included woodworking, reading, playing video games, hunting, fishing, camping, birding and raising flowers. It was said that Jim could fix just about anything and was very clever and intelligent. He continued his love of learning his entire life. Spending time with his seven granddaughters gave him great joy as each of them had something special they would do together.

As Jim’s illness progressed, he was the first patient admitted to the new Hospice With Heart facility where his family felt that they all received wonderful care and compassion as Jim made his transition.

Preceding Jim in death were his parents, half-sister, Margaret Waldorf, brother-in-laws, Jim Carpenter and Paul Hayne. He is survived by his wife, Shelly Wingfield of Pacific Junction, IA; sons, Richard & wife Julie Wingfield of Malvern, IA; Scott & wife Lisha Wingfield of Red Oak, IA; seven granddaughters; sisters, Marian Carpenter, Cherryl Hayne both of Commerce City, CO; Carol & husband Theron Pace of Ft.
