Marilyn Lea Ricker, 75, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Silver City, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on October 14, 2008 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was born July 9, 1933 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to James Kenneth and Bessie (Scott) Jewel.

Marilyn graduated from Modale High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Michael Eugene Ricker on August 22, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union six children were born, Kristy, Diana, Kathy, Donna, Julie and Michael. The family lived in Silver City, Iowa for forty years and moved to Council Bluffs in 1999. Marilyn enjoyed being a homemaker while raising her family and it was quoted that, “She was the best Mom ever!” One of her talents was to make beautiful ceramic pieces and her Christmas Village was one of the most treasured by her family. Marilyn enjoyed going to the casino and was employed at Bluffs Run Casino for five years. She had also worked at the Rainbow Bakery for two years.

Preceding Marilyn in death were her parents. She is survived by her husband Michael Ricker of Council Bluffs, Iowa; children, Kristy and William Stadt of Omaha, Nebraska; Diana and Doug Burchett of Malvern, Iowa; Kathy and Curtis Trimmer of Malvern, Iowa; Donna Davis; Julie and Thomas Belt; Michael K. Ricker all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie and husband Delbert McVay; Beverly Jewel all of Glenwood, Iowa; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
