Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

A memorial fund has been established.

INTERMENT: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Russell Dean Royer, 72, of Glenwood, Iowa entered into eternal rest on March 24, 2007 at his home. He was born June 16, 1934 in Essex, IA to Harry & Ethel (Pearson) Royer. Russell was united in marriage to Donna Theresa Milligan on June 15, 1953 in Shenandoah, IA. He was in the Army from 1956-58. The couple resided in Shenandoah until moving to Lincoln in 1958-1970. His job with Wickstroms Barber and Beauty took the family to Omaha from 1970-73 until they purchased their acreage in Glenwood in 1973. Russ started his own painting business known as Royer Painting which was in operation for over 30 years. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. His church family at Holy Rosary Catholic Church was also extremely important in his life. He was proud to be a Knight of Columbus Fourth Degree and was honored with Grand Knight of the year in 1996-97, 1997-98 and Knight of the year in 1993-94. He was very active in the church in many different capacities. Russ was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Preceding Russ in death were his parents Harry and Ethel Royer and brothers Virgil Royer and Gary Royer. He is survived by his wife Donna Royer of Glenwood, IA; daughters, Kathy & husband Tracey Anderson of Glenwood, IA; Becky & husband Evan McBlain of Bellevue, NE; grandchildren, Zach and Alexa Anderson and Kelsie and Megan McBlain; step-mother, Faye Royer of Coin, IA; brother, Carroll & wife Donna Royer of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Phyllis & husband Derry Wolford of Shenandoah, IA; Barbara & husband Bob Houtz of Clarinda, IA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
