Steven Lee “Smokey” Johnson

Steve “Smokey” Johnson, 69 of Glenwood, IA passed away September 27, 2016 at Hospice With Heart in Glenwood. He was born on June 18, 1947 in Council Bluffs, IA to Fred Forrest and Mary Josephine (Fisher) Johnson. Steve was raised in Pacific Junction, IA. He was united in marriage to Deanna Gail Decker on June 4, 1966 in LaVista, NE. To this union three children were born, Tina, Angie and Tony.

Steve was employed as a truck driver for Vrana Construction until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with his friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Preceding Steve in passing was his wife Deanna on Aug. 9, 2008. Survivors include his children, Tina (Terry) Burnison of Pacific Junction, IA; Angie Johnson (Perry Cook) of Glenwood, IA; Tony (Bobbi) Johnson of Malvern, IA; 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Eric and Mitchell Greene; Gary Burnison; Travis, Ryan and Whitney Wright; Chelsey Johnson and Cody Prien; 9 great-grandchildren, Cooper Cyr and Easton Greene; Tanner, Trevor and Alexis Burnison; Quintin Hockabout; Decker Stubbs, Landon and Gentry Wright; extended relatives and many friends.

Interment will be held in the Malvern Cemetery.
