Wanda Jeanette (Boquette) Young-Wynn, 83 of Pacific Junction, Iowa passed away on October 25, 2018 in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born on December 20, 1934 in Creston, Iowa to Howard Lynn and Lola Vesta (Patton) Boquette.

Wanda was raised in Pacific Junction and graduated from high school in 1952. She attended nursing school at Iowa Western earning her L.P.N. license. After marriage, she moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she opened and managed 2 nursing homes. In the mid 1960’s she returned to Pacific Junction and was employed at the Glenwood State Hospital School, where she was a charge nurse on Lacy 2W. She loved working in the nursery and taking care of the babies. She later went to work at the V.A. Hospital and then On With Life until her retirement. Wanda played an instrumental part in the Pacific Junction Alumni Association and Historical Society. She spent her summers at the cabin in Minnesota and enjoyed countless sunrises, sunsets and listening to the loons. Minnesota was filled with endless hours of fishing and making memories with family and friends. If the boat was on the lake, chances are she was in it with her line in the water. Wanda loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

My condolences to the family and all who loved Wanda. The seeming finality of death is what makes it especially difficult. But we can have confidence that God yearns to bring back to life the dead who are preserved in his memory. (Job 14:14,15) His Word, the Bible, gives us a wonderful hope of living in a paradise on earth and seeing the resurrection of our dead loved ones. (Luke 23:43; John 5:28,29) May this bring you some comfort during this difficult time.
