The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, June 2, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood, Iowa

William R. “Bill” Hendrix, 93, of Glenwood, IA, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving wife and children at his home in Glenwood, IA on May 30, 2010. He was born Sept. 20, 1916 in Brunswick, MO to Elisha C. & Orpha A. (Hazlett) Hendrix.
He was united in marriage to Stella Pauline Wood on Jan. 21, 1939 in Princeton, MO. To this union five children were born, Larry, Gary, Linda, Janice and Harold.
Bill was a farmer and later was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, and gardening, planting watermelons, strawberries and numerous vegetables. He dearly loved his family and was happily married to Stella for 71 å_ years.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents and five siblings, Ruby, Chet, Jessie, Ed and Jim. He is survived by his wife, Stella Hendrix of Glenwood, IA: children, Larry & wife Marilyn Hendrix of Overland Park, KS; Gary Hendrix of Glenwood, IA: Linda & husband Norman Burson of Dallas, OR; Janice & husband Fred James of Council Bluffs, IA; Harold & wife Joani Hendrix of Emerson, IA: 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; brother, Oliver & wife Betty Hendrix of Dearborn, MO; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
