William Woodrow Paulsen

William “Bill” Woodrow Paulsen, 92, of Tabor, Iowa, formerly of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on May 8, 2011 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born Jan. 14, 1919 in Hannibal, Missouri to Nelse & Lura (Kerr) Paulsen. Bill faithfully served his country during WWII in the Army. He was united in marriage to Bernadine Mae Brown on Oct. 3, 1948 in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union six children were born, Gene, Jerry, Neva, Betty, Cindy & Dale.

Bill was employed with Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement. He moved to Glenwood from Omaha, Nebraska in 1965.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents, wife, Bernadine in 1981; infant granddaughter, Heather Batten, grandsons, Chad and Brian Batten. He is survived by his children, Gene & wife Cathy Paulsen of Gretna, Nebraska; Jerry & wife Char Paulsen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Neva Paulsen & partner Dawn Jackson of Bonita Springs, Florida; Betty & husband Don Batten of Glenwood, Iowa; Cindy Paulsen of Glenwood, Iowa; Dale Paulsen of Malvern, Iowa; 9 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; extended relatives and many friends.
