Anne Louise Miller Beals was born on August 14 1927 in Rolette North Dakota. She was the third of Paul Andrew and Merton Beatrice Melby Miller’s six children. Anne graduated in 1945 from Minot High School and then attended Minot State Teachers College and Iowa State in Ames, Iowa where she met Donald Marion Beals. They married on June 26, 1948 in Red Oak, Iowa. Don and Anne had six children. Anne loved classical music, birds, flowers, camping, coffee and chocolate. She enjoyed doing puzzles and loved winning at cards. She was very competitive prompting her husband to nickname her the “Dragon Lady”.
Anne loved the “littles” and treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anne was fun loving and had a wonderful outlook on life. She often said to us, “Aren’t I lucky!.”
She loved family debates and stretching her children’s minds. She was kind and patient and full of life.
She is preceded by her parents, husband Don, brother Paul Miller, sisters Betty Concha and Jean Miller. Survivors include her children; Becky Bissell (Roger), D. Marc Beals (Gail), Mary Beals-Luedtka, (Dennis) Paula Redden (John), Deborah Beals, and Margie Beals, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
