B. June Parks, 87 of Glenwood, Iowa entered into rest on March 14, 2016 in Tabor, Iowa. She was born on June 11, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland to John Wesley and Emma Rosebury (Stephens) Roe.
June was united in marriage to Robert LeRoy Parks on June 6, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. To this union five children were born, Michael, Patricia, Pamela, Richard and Brett. June loved her family and enjoyed taking care of them. In her early years, she helped her husband in the dry cleaning business. June also sold shoes in department store, worked at the Glenwood State Hospital School for a short time and got her real estate license, but soon realized that wasn’t for her. She went back to school and earned her cosmetology license. She worked in several salons before opening Shear Trends until her retirement.
June always loved learning new things and was an avid reader and it became difficult to find a book she hadn’t already read. She enjoyed volunteering for Fontanelle Forest and loved genealogy, not only for humans but birds. She had a special fondness for bluebirds and was a member of Bluebirds Across Nebraska and started the Bluebird trails at Foothills Park with members of the Iowa Bluebird Conservation Organization, after Mills County Conservation took over the park, Conservationist, Jerad Getter, named the trail “The June Parks Bluebird Trail”.
She loved her family immensely and attending their gatherings. Each time you see a bluebird may it remind you of June and her love of nature and a life well lived.
Preceding June in passing were her parents, husband Bob, one sister, two brothers, son-in-law, Michael Rodman and granddaughter, Mia Renee Rodman. Survivors include her children, Michael (Judi) Parks of Wayzata, MN; Patricia (Don) Donscheski of Omaha, Nebraska; Pamela (Lyle) Mayberry; Richard (Jody) Parks; Brett Parks all of Glenwood, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends
Memorials may be made to the June Parks Bluebird Trail c/o Mills County Conservation, Indian Creek Museum, Glenwood Public Library or Tabor Fire and Rescue.

Bill and I greatly miss you June, and as we watch the Blue birds from the windows by the river, we remember your passion and love of these beautiful birds and will always prize your wool blue birds. God is with you and your birds. Bill and LouAnne
To June’s Family,
So sorry for your loss. June was such a special lady and will be missed.
We had fun and some good visits over coffee. Will miss you.
I loved June! She was a neighbor while I was growing up and did my hair a few times. She taught me how to make pictures with chalk art when I was little. She was a wonderful & honest woman!
I was sorry to hear of June’s passing. She will be missed by many. She and my Mom were good friends and later bird watching buddies. I have memories of her cutting my hair many, many years ago, and of staying overnight at her home (with Richard, back in elementary school). I was truly sorry that I was unable to attend June’s services.
