Barbara Jo (Gilbert) Tucker, 90, of Glenwood, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by her family June 17, 2023 at Glen Haven Village. She was born August 25, 1932 in Battle Creek, Iowa to Clark Glen and Nilmah Cecelia (Baker) Gilbert. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1949.

Barb was united in marriage to George Keith Tucker on June 20, 1954. George’s employment took them to Indiana, France, Texas, California, Turkey, Montana, Saudi Arabia and back to Glenwood in 1996. Barb enjoyed entertaining and giving cooking lessons to her grandchildren. As a talented local baker, she lovingly catered beautifully crafted cakes and other desserts for the community’s special occasions. She was an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering on her children and grandchildren from the stands and loved watching sports on television. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and P.E.O., Chapter FF.

Preceding Barb in passing were her parents, husband, sister Alice Kay Pfaffle and brother Harry Charles Gilbert. Survivors include her children Patricia (Kelly) Lyons of Birmingham, Alabama; James Tucker of Glenwood, Iowa; Diane (Shawn) Enger of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren Brad Lyons, April (Tim) Maglothin, Keith (Jessica) Tucker, Kevin (Alison) Tucker, Rachel (Jake) Rodenburg; great-grandchildren Aiden, Faith, Charlie, Wade, Clyde, Henry, Hannah and one on the way; sister Mary Ortner of Danbury, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Private Interment, Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.
