Barbara Ruth (Condon) King, 68 of Glenwood, Iowa was born May 12, 1954 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Cyril Edward and Lorene Violet (Bram) Condon. She passed away December 24, 2022 at the Hansen House in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Barb was united in marriage to Thomas Arthur King on December 10, 1977 in Anchorage, Alaska. To this union two sons were born, Jeremiah and Collin. Barb was a Registered Nurse until her retirement. She and her family shared their love of the outdoors and went fishing whenever they had the chance. They fished in Canada and Alaska which she thoroughly enjoyed. Her family brought her a lot of joy especially her grandchildren.
Preceding Barb in passing were her parents, husband Tom and brother Jim Condon. Survivors include her sons Jeremiah King; Collin (Whitney) King of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren Conner King, Cameron King, Tate King, Macy King and Aurora King; siblings Tom (Pam) Condon of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; Kim (Terry) Zimmerman of Storm Lake, Iowa; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Interment to be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.

Prayers to the family of Barb.
This sparkling personality left us too soon. I worked with Barb for only a couple of years when she worked in Area 3. Such whimsy & slightly naughty spirits. After she moved on to other work I often asked Tom about her & always reported she was doing good. She worked nights for years & was reported devoted to her patients. I wish we had stayed in closer contact.
To the entire King family, please accept our heartfelt sympathies for your loss. We attended Tom’s service and reception, and were delighted to meet many of you and visit with Bob, Judy and Kathy. It was wonderful to reconnect. We’re thankful that Barb is now with Tom in heaven. Blessings to you all! Monie & Lee Hetrick
Barb King was such a loving, fun, happy, loyal, compassionate, (did I say fun?) person. I worked with her in a few places. I saw her love and commitment for her patients and to those she worked with. She appreciated my Irish spirit and took me to River Dance one year. The love for her patients and family was not overlooked. Our Christmas family Party is at noon on the 30th. How I would love to be at her service. I miss her. She defiantly left her mark on this world. May you fly with the fairies to heaven to be with those you love who have passed on.
My sincere condolences to the King Family. We had Tom and Barb in our town of Ponca, Nebraska for a few short years and they became very good friends of ours. They were God parents to our middle son,
After they moved we lost track of them, but have very very fond memories of Skiing in the Rockies, gardening and camping (winter & Summer) Both she and Tom had such a heart for others and her “whimsical” personality was contagious. (someone mentioned it, and i couldn’t agree more) Of all the people in this world, I would love to have been with her one more time.
God Bless their family! I know they are carrying on a wonderful legacy of kind and compassionate people.
