Beverly Sue McCord, 83 of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away August 19, 2023 at her home in Council Bluffs. She was born January 1, 1940 in Dunlap, Iowa to Melvin Fouts and Ada Zilla (Cover) McCord.
Beverly was a longtime employee of Wilkinson manufacturing and she retired from her job as office manager at Laborers union local 1140. She also loved her waitressing job at the Glenwood Café. She was the owner of Hillside Pub in Omaha from 1995 to the mid 2000’s. She enjoyed playing bridge and any card game. Beverly was an avid reader and also liked watching television sit coms, British mysteries and Murder She wrote were some of her favorites. She had a sharp-witted personality and was totally devoted to her family. Her children always knew they came first and have so many wonderful memories.
Preceding Beverly in passing were her parents, daughter Kimberly Sue Barnes; infant son Jackie B.; siblings Ruth, George, Bernard, Jean, Oscar, Wanda and leaves behind many friends. Survivors include her children Tami Jo (Doug) Tietsort of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Cara Lee Johnson of Mesa, Arizona; Raymond Thies Budd of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; siblings Mina Usher; Shirley McCord both of Glenwood, Iowa; Raymond McCord of Anacortes, Washington; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Memorial donations may be directed to the American Lung Association.
