Carolin Louise (Stortenbecker) Copperstone, 72 of Malvern, IA passed away on Sept. 27, 2016 in Council Bluffs, IA. She was born on Sept. 10, 1944 in Council Bluffs, IA. Carolin was united in marriage to Charles Franklin Copperstone on April 28, 1967 in Hastings, IA.
In her early years, Carolin was a nurse’s aide. Once she was married to Chuck, she prided herself on being a homemaker. She loved making meals for the men as they farmed, working her garden and taking care of the boys. They moved into Malvern and she then had the daycare as the boys were older, but was always active with them while they were in school. She and Chuck were active members of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hastings until they later joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood. She was active in Dorcas, Ladies Aid and enjoyed assisting in the kitchen as long as she was able. Carolin loved flowers, crafts, embroidering, playing cards, camping and traveling with Chuck. They would jump in the car not knowing where the road trip would take them. She always made special birthday cakes for each grandchild’s birthday. One would never see Carolin without being dressed to the nines. She enjoyed shopping and getting her nails done. Chuck and Carolin had large vegetable gardens and shared the delicious fruits of their labor with family & friends. During the holidays, she would have special crafts for the grandkids to do. She would make delicious cinnamon rolls, pies and sheet cakes and shared her goodies with the East Mills athletes as well. She will be deeply missed by her family & friends.
