Carolyn Janet Yates, 82 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away May 29, 2023 in Glenwood. She was born January 1, 1941 in Hamburg, Iowa to Glen Buster and Dorothy Gertrude (Gardner) Powers.
Carolyn was united in marriage to Raymond Gary Yates January 2, 1960 in Tabor, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Debra and Rodney. Carolyn was a homemaker and was later employed as seamstress for Unitog. She enjoyed fishing, canning tomatoes and had a large collection of cookbooks. She had many friends and was a kind person.
Preceding Carolyn in passing were her parents, husband Gary and their son Rodney Glen Yates. Survivors include her daughter Debra (John W.) White of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren John G. White (Kimberly); Breanna White (finance Jordan Bertelsen) and Amanda Yates; great-grandchildren include Baylor White; John Ray White; Laila Renee Bertelson; sister Glenda Charlene Jordan of St. Joseph, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.

Carolyn I loved our conversations. You always had words of encouragement. I’ll never forget our conversations. One thing that I will always cherish is the smile you kept on.
Carolyn was a beautiful. caring lady. Her and Gary were my landlords for a lot of years. Best landlords and people I have ever met. May you rest in peace my friend.

Carolyn was a very special lady and holds a special place in my heart.. She was always worried about me even though I was there to take care of her. Rest easy Carolyn.
