Cecil G. Harper, 92 of Glenwood, IA entered into rest on Sept. 21, 2014 in Glenwood, IA. He was born March 1, 1922 in Wisner, NE. Cecil graduated from Winside High School in 1939. He faithfully served his country during WWII as a bomber pilot in the Air Force. He was united in marriage to Ella Mae Ord on Dec. 31, 1942 in Omaha, NE. To this union four children were born, Tom, Dennis, Donna & Mary.
Cecil established Glenwood Farm Equipment on April 1, 1961. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1 in Omaha, NE for 70 years. Cecil enjoyed dancing, cooking & working at his implement business. He was so proud of his children & grandchildren.
Preceding Cecil in death were his parents, wife Ella Mae in 1989, brother Donald, sisters Mildred, Delores, Irene & Margaret. Survivors include children, Tom (Gerry) Harper of Glenwood, IA; Dennis (Denise) Harper of Bellevue, NE; Donna (Mike) Lee of Glenwood, IA; Mary (Scott) Hiatt of Papillion, NE; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Dale Harper of Tabor, IA; sisters, Ruby Laurent of Las Vegas, NV; Helen Rohde of Omaha, NE; Shirley Liddick of Papillion, NE; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Glenwood Public Library or Glenwood Fire and Rescue.
