Charleen June Barber, 78 of Glenwood, IA entered into rest on Dec. 24, 2013 in Council Bluffs, IA. She was born on Jan. 11, 1935 in Hamburg, IA to Charles & Lillie Fay (Scott) Mount. Charleen was united in marriage to Alvin Earl Barber on June 6, 1954 in Farragut, IA. To this union three children were born, Cindy, Kenneth and Cheryl.
Charleen was employed as an insurance agent for Hummel Insurance prior to retiring. She enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, flower gardening, crafts, reading and shopping on ebay. She loved spending time with her family.
Preceding Charleen in death were her parents, daughter Cindy & brother Gary. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Earl Barber of Glenwood, IA; son Ken & wife Debbie Barber of Council Bluffs, IA; Cheryl Barber of Coquille, OR; grandchildren, Nicholas Earl Barber, Zachary Luke Breitkreutz, Keira Breanne Breitkreutz, Cory Crum & Jeanna Steppuhn; extended relatives & many friends.
Interment will be at a later date.
A memorial fund has been established.

Was sadden to hear of Charlene’s passing. I always enjoyed our visits when I would see her in town. I have many memories of our days on Grove Street as young kids growing up and our moms visiting. Know I’m thinking of each of you at this difficult time.
