Daniel Lee Smith, 77 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away July 30, 2020 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was born on November 16, 1942 in Miami, Oklahoma to William Bythal and Emma Kathryn (Stan) Smith.
Daniel was united in marriage to Polly Eckersley on March 26, 1988 in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. The couple enjoyed being a host family for numerous exchange students over the years and continue to keep in touch with many of them.
Daniel was employed as a Maintenance Manager for an apartment complex until his retirement. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Daniel in passing were his parents and sister. Survivors include his wife Polly Eckersley of Glenwood, Iowa; step-children Jeffrey (Konny) Eckersley of Omaha, Nebraska; Julia Eckersley (Ian Morrison) of Oak Park, Illinois; 5 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
