David Allen Miller, 64, of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest in Omaha, NE on Oct. 5, 2012. He was born May 26, 1948 in Columbus, NE to Alvin E. & Ruby Darlene (Symonds) Miller.
David was a longtime resident at the Glenwood Resource Center and enjoyed his life there. In his younger years, he participated in the Special Olympics. He worked hard to his degree of mobility in his paintings and sorting of objects. Whenever the opportunity arose, he liked to go for drives in the country and near the airport to see the airplanes. Watching movies was also one of David’s favorite pastimes. David had a beautiful singing voice and thoroughly loved music, especially Elvis Presley selections.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Darlene Rich. He is survived by his father, Alvin E. & wife Carol Miller of Cedar Rapids, IA; sisters, Vicki A. & husband Ken Eaton of Cedar Rapids, IA; Deborah L. & husband Dennis Miller of Des Moines, IA; nephews, Nathan & wife Jana Miller of Rochester, MN; Alan & wife Heather Miller of Altoona; great-nieces and nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.

We are sincerely sorry for the loss of David. Carol has told me so many things about him. His love of music, movies, fishing, walks in the park and airplanes. And, that he had a beautiful singing voice. I know he will be missed.

David was very special to all of us. He always found a way to make our day brighter and he will be missed very much. My heart goes out to all his family in their time of mourning.
