David Verdell Holtzen, 60, of Glenwood, Iowa was born November 30, 1961 in Salina, Kansas to Verdell Carl and Dorothy Lucille (Marquart) Holtzen. He passed away August 9, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska.
David met and married the love of his life, Ronda Lynn Brown in 1984. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Brian and Amanda. He was a dedicated father and caregiver. He was a talented carpenter and craftsman. He enjoyed doing craft projects with his wife and was able to turn two-by-fours into beautiful works of art.
Preceding David in passing was his father, wife, and brother, Donavon Holtzen. Survivors include his children, Brian Holtzen of Glenwood, Iowa and Amanda (Cameron) Krumwiede of Papillion, Nebraska; mother Dorothy Holtzen of Hebron, Nebraska; siblings Dwayne Holtzen of Bruning, Nebraska: Kathleen Eldridge of Fairbury, Nebraska; Karleen Reinsch of Sidney, Nebraska; Kristie Wilkins of Burning, Nebraska; mother-in-law Ardis Brown of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law Patricia Klinker of Lincoln, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Interment to be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many memories of hanging around with Dave when he was Bill’s roommate. He was best man at our wedding and our oldest son’s godfather. He will be missed.
