Dickie Dean Severn, 70 of Silver City, Iowa entered into rest on December 30, 2015 at his home. He was born May 31, 1945 in Glenwood, Iowa to Lester James & Bessie Pearl (Carnes) Severn.
Dickie was united in marriage to Glenda Lee Johansen on December 29, 1972 in Glenwood, Iowa. Dickie worked in the construction business as a truck driver until his retirement. He was a talented carpenter and in 2000, he built the home where they currently live. He was an avid collector and rider of Harley Davidson motorcycles. The love of riding was passed down to his grandchildren as he started them off with go carts, took them on golf cart rides around town, which led to riding dirt bikes. When they turned 16, he helped them purchase their first vehicle. Dickie never met a stranger and kept his sense of humor right up to the end. He had an infectious way of always making people laugh and smile and everyone loved being around him.
Preceding Dickie in passing were his parents, infant daughter, Schshay Leann Severn; sister, Betty Severn and brother, Kelly Severn. Survivors include his loving wife, Glenda Severn of Silver City, Iowa; children, Vickie Severn of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Jamey (Amber) Severn of Underwood, Iowa; Jeremy (Robin) Severn of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Mary Beinke, Patty Bohrer, Karen Kelso, Sandra Severn, Frances Oetkin, Vicky Severn, Lester Severn and Danny Severn; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
Interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
