Donald Duane Evans, Sr., 67, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2006 in Council Bluffs, IA. He was born April 2, 1939 in Red Oak, IA to Russell & Selma (Wram) Evans. Donald graduated from Pacific Junction High School in 1958. He faithfully served his country in the Army during 1958-61. He was united in marriage to Della Mae Anglen on November 10, 1962 in Plattsmouth, NE. To this union two sons were born, Donald, Jr. and Ronald. The family moved from Pacific Junction to Glenwood in 1967.
Donald was a switchman for Burlington Northern Railroad for 37 years. He was a member of Eagles ( F.O.E. 3784). He loved spending time with his grandchildren, going to the Eagles Club and being retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Dale and David. He is survived by his wife Della Mae Evans of Glenwood, IA; sons: Donald, Jr. and wife Ruth Evans of Vacaville, CA; Ronald Evans of Glenwood, IA; grandchildren: Donald Evans, III of Vacaville, CA; Callie Evans of Harrah, OK; brothers and sisters: Delbert & wife Marilyn Evans; Darlene Evans; Darwin & wife Barbara Evans; Della Joy & husband Darrell Anglen; Deanna & husband Kenny King; Malinda Evans; Dennis Evans; Darrell Evans; Denise & husband Chris Scott; Sister-in-laws: Carol Evans and Jan Evans; Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Howard Almquist; Aunt Millie & Uncle Ed Thorn; Aunt Pat Wram; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
