Donald James Seddon, 80, of Glenwood, Iowa, formerly of Creston, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2011 in Glenwood, Iowa. Don was born Nov. 4, 1930 in Hiteman, Iowa to Ollie & Charlotte (Carlo) Seddon. Following high school, Don faithfully served his country in the Army from 1951-53 during the Korean Conflict.

Don was employed as a conductor with Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Phelie Theo Gayle Deacon on June 19, 1976 in Glenwood, Iowa. The couple had a good life together and enjoyed traveling. They attended Cub’s games for eleven years. They also liked to fish and go mushroom hunting. Don will be remembered for living a good Christian life each and every day.

Preceding Don in death were his parents and wife. He is survived by his children, Tony & wife Cathy Seddon; Mike & wife Wendy Seddon; Susie Scherer all of Creston, Iowa; Diana & husband Roger Millslagle of Cromwell, Iowa; step-children, Sherlie A. & husband Brian Magaret; Jennie D. & husband Wils Carr; Vicki J. & husband Mark Lauenroth all of Glenwood, Iowa; Polly J. & husband Andy Young of Pacific Junction, Iowa; 12 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Betty Peck & companion, Frank Comstock of Eddyville, Iowa; nephew, Bob & wife Connie Peck of Ottumwa, Iowa; uncle John & wife Leila Carlo of Ottumwa, Iowa; extended relatives and many friends.
