Doris Iva Schoening, 89 of Glenwood, IA entered into rest on April 14, 2015 in Glenwood, IA. She was born July 27, 1925 in Alliance, NE to Clyde James & Elva Anna (Wickham) Dayley. Doris graduated in 1943 from Silt High School in Colorado. After graduation, she moved to Silver City, IA & was united in marriage to Albert Schoening in 1944. Doris also lived in Council Bluffs before moving to Glenwood. She attended cosmetology school in Omaha, NE. Doris enjoyed being a homemaker and seamstress. She belonged to the Quilters Guild was a Foster Grandparent at the Glenwood Resource Center and was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church as well as ELCA in Mineola, IA.
Preceding Doris in passing were her parents, husband Albert Schoening; son Dale Schoening; daughter-in-laws Norma Schoening and Connie Schoening; grandson Steven Schoening; granddaughters KayD Irwin & Charis Hiley; great-granddaughter Melinda Barrett; sister Cecile Hoff; nephews Marty Jensen and Edward Williams; Survivors include her children LeVern Schoening of Treynor, IA; Edwin (Janice) Schoening of Elkhorn, NE: LeRoy (Donna) Schoening of Glenwood, IA; Lorna Hiley of Cayman Islands; Carol Sue (Roger) Tibben of Glenwood, IA; sister Mary Jane Williams of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren Cindy (Jeff) Rinderer of Salina, KS; Nancy (Jim) Lipes of Glenwood, IA; David (Linda) Schoening of Silver City, IA; LaDonna (Jon) Coover of Council Bluffs, IA; Gregg Schoening of Glenwood, IA; Kathy (Tom) Adams of Springfield, NE; Rod (Mary) Schoening of Drumore, PA; Neal (Linda) Schoening of Omaha, NE; Cheryal (Rod) Ruth of Glenwood, IA; Larry (Annie) Record of Brighton, CO; Mark (Juli) Schoening of Glenwood, IA: Brian Schoening of Kearney, MO; Ashli Irwin of Ypsilanti, MI; Alise Irwin of Glenwood, IA: Ana (Chase) Daniels of Omaha, NE; Angie (Jason) Lang of Silver City, IA; Derik (Melissa) Tibben of Bellevue, NE; Amber (Rico) Gauna of Temple, TX; Grant “Beau” (Jennifer) Hiley of Grand Cayman Islands; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
