Dorothy Louise (Evans) Sutton Black, 71 of Glenwood, IA entered into eternal rest on Dec. 9, 2013 in Council Bluffs, IA. She was born June 23, 1942 in Iowa City, IA to Robert Emmett & Pearl (Pace) Evans. Following high school, Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Lee Sutton on June 1, 1960 in Eugene, OR. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Christopher, Benjamin, Laura, Daniel and Jason. On May 13, 1979, Robert passed away due to injuries from a car accident. On July 5, 1999, Dorothy married Daniel LaVar Black in Huntington, UT. They resided in Huntington, UT where Dorothy remained until his passing in 2010. She then relocated to Glenwood.
Before retirement, Dorothy was employed as a nurse’s aide in home health care. She also provided childcare. She dearly loved her family and the musical talents they all shared.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, brothers Dickie, Jerry & Marvin Evans. Survivors include her children, Christopher & Gunilla Sutton of San Francisco, CA & sons Erik & Max; Benjamin Sutton of Crescent, IA & children Bobbie Jo Coine & Robert Sutton; Laura Sutton Collins of Omaha, NE & sons Wesley & Wil; Daniel Sutton of Omaha, NE & children, Tanner & Kayla; Jason Sutton & fianc̩ Simone Juanita Kytle & daughter Izabela Ava Sutton of Seattle, WA; 2 great-grandchildren, Caleb & Cameryn Coine; siblings, Bernard & Judy Evans; Barbara Markuson; Virginia Boyd; Betty Budd all of Glenwood, IA; Sam Evans of Omaha, NE; Mrs. Reba Evans (Jerry) of Colorado Springs, CO; Mrs. Katherine Evans (Marvin) of Orinda, CA; nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
