Dorothy Marie Harrison, 90, passed away on August 11, 2018 in her home in Springfield, Missouri after a long battle with heart, kidney and Alzheimer’s disease.
Dorothy was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 7, 1928. Her parents were Joseph and Caroline Jerabek of Omaha. Dorothy was raised in Omaha and attended Benson High School. She married Bryce Harrison on February 18, 1950. They made their home on a farm near Tabor, Iowa. They had 5 children; David Lee, deceased, Debby Johnson (Rick Johnson) Ogden, IA, Robert Harrison, Beatrice, NE, Jane Harmon (Kevin Harmon) Springfield, MO and Mary Harrison (Travis Bromley) of Omaha, NE.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband; Bryce Harrison, son David Lee, parents; Joseph and Caroline Jerabek, 3 siblings; Verona Jerabek, Robert Jerabek and Irene Bricher Kampe and other beloved extended family members and friends.
Dorothy is survived by 4 children, 6 grandchildren,
17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who she loved dearly. She was an active charter member of the Holy Rosary Church in Glenwood, IA until she relocated to Springfield, MO in 2015. She will be remembered most for her sense of humor, her love for children, animals, music, flowers and her compassion for others. We find our comfort in knowing Dorothy is no longer in pain but is rejoicing with her Lord and Savior.
Memorial funds will be designated to MOSAIC in Beatrice, NE.
Interment in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.
2 Condolences
Dorothy was a very special lady…as sweet as they come! My dad, Richard worked for her and Bryce when I was young. She also helped with our 4-H group. I am sorry to hear of her passing, but know she deserved her place in Heaven! God’s Blessings to the Harrison family during this sorrowful time!
a cousin of mine who was closer to my fathers age ( Chuck Jerabek) , but always remember Dorothy as a wonderful, cheerful person. when I was a child I do remember going to the farm in Tabor Iowa and having a great time . deepest sympathy to the family
