Evelyn Irene McCoy, 95, of Glenwood, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2008 at Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. She was born August 17, 1912 in Madison County, Iowa to Frank and Ida Mae (Walker) McCleary.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Herman McCoy in 1950. They lived on a farm in Mills County, Iowa. They also resided in Madison County, IA; Omaha, NE and Glenwood, IA.
While living in Omaha, Evelyn was employed at Clarkson Hospital. In Glenwood, She was a receptionist for Dr. DeYoung until his retirement. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter, Iowa.
Preceding Evelyn in death were her parents, husband Herman in 1983, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by nieces, Vernal Addy of Winterset, Iowa; Bonnie Oberender of Altoona, Iowa; La Vaun Monroe of Chicago, Illinois; Peggy Swanson of Glenwood, Iowa; nephew, Frank McCleary of Des Moines, Iowa; cousins and friends.
