Everett C. Shaw, Jr. 96 of Glenwood, Iowa formerly of Clarinda, Iowa passed away December 5, 2018 at Glen Haven Home. He was born on February 13, 1922 in Rawles Township, Mills County, Iowa to Everett and Dorris (Ellis) Shaw. He attended schools in Tabor and Red Oak. He entered the U.S. Navy in November of 1942 serving on the U.S.S. Warren in the South Pacific until the completion of the war.
Everett and Dorothy “Dottie” Kemmet were married on January 25, 1946 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Roger Alan, born on August 24, 1949 in Clarinda, Iowa.
Everett received his diploma from the Universal Trade School in Omaha after completion of the Refrigeration-Air Conditioning Course in June of 1947. Everett and Dottie moved to Clarinda where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and had his own refrigeration-air-conditioning business. They moved to Glenwood in 1983 following his retirement.
Preceding Everett in passing were his parents, wife, Dottie; brothers, Ellis, Robert and Jerrold; sisters, Margaret, Virginia and daughter-in-law, Janie Faaborg.
Survivors include his sons, Randy Faaborg of Springfield, Missouri; Roger (Kay) Shaw of Glenwood, Iowa; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Interment and Military Honors will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Holy Rosary Church.

Sorry to hear of his passing. I spent many hours at the Shaw residence during my youth.
We are sadden d to learn that Everett passed away. We enjoyed getting to know him at Linnwood. Prayers for the families.

I am saddened to learn of Everett’s passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him when I visited my parents at Linnwood. And was always so impressed when i would see him walking around town. He was a trooper1

I was sorry to hear of Everett’s recent passing. I enjoyed visiting with him at Linnwood and hearing the wonderful stories of his life he shared. He was an inspiration with his daily walks! Keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers.
