Private Graveside Services with military honors by the Iowa Army National Guard will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa due to the Federal and State requirements of the COVID-19 Health Emergency Pandemic.
Frederick Albert Konfrst, 82 of Glenwood, Iowa passed away April 27, 2020 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born March 1, 1938 in Glenwood, Iowa to Louis and Mildred Konfrst. Fred was raised on the family farm and graduated from Glenwood High School.
Fred was employed with Swift packing plant and owned his own waste sanitation business for many years. He faithfully served on the Army National Guard for 25 years. Fred was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Prindle on September 9, 1993 in Pacific Junction, Iowa. He was a hard worker and raised cattle for many years. Fred loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Preceding Fred in passing were his parents, siblings, Charles Konfrst, Kathy Porter, Kenneth Konfrst; sisters-in-laws Dorothy Konfrst, Joyce Konfrst and Barb Konfrst.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Konfrst of Glenwood, Iowa; children Mark (Jane) Konfrst of Slater, Iowa; Diana Konfrst (Jon) of Glenwood, Iowa; Brian (Heidi) Konfrst; Tim (Shelly) Konfrst all Pacific Junction, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Louis (LaVetta) Konfrst of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Donald Konfrst; Gerald Konfrst both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Frank (Diane) Konfrst of Blair, Nebraska; Mike (Donetta) Konfrst; Marvin Konfrst; Melvin Konfrst all of Glenwood, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Glenwood Lake Park, Glenwood, Iowa once COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
Memorials may be directed to the Glenwood Lake Park, Glenwood, Iowa.
