Gary James Wichman

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Glenwood, Iowa.

Interment will be at a later date.

Gary James Wichman, son of Ray and Vi (Raabe) Wichman, was born January 8, 1936 in Hadar, Nebraska.

He was raised in the Omaha area and attended elementary schools there as well as Omaha Central High School and Omaha North High School where he was an accomplished athlete, especially excelling in baseball and football. He later attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, receiving a bachelors degree in business and marketing. For many years he was a pharmaceutical sales representative until retiring in 2002.

On April 12, 1958 in Lincoln, Nebraska, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Welsh. To this union, two sons were born; John Arthur and David Raymond.

In July of 2004 Gary and Patricia moved to Glenwood, Iowa. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood.

Gary had a great love and respect for the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly quail.

He also was a loyal Huskers fan and had season tickets to the Nebraska games for many years.

On September 18, 2011 he entered into eternal rest following an extended period of failing health.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and brother and a loyal friend to many.
