Guinevere L. “Gwen” Krecklow, 89 of Glenwood, IA entered into rest on Oct. 24, 2014 in Glenwood, IA. She was born Sept. 27, 1925 in Blair, NE to Andrew Phillip & Charlotte (Koenig) Matzen. She graduated from Glenwood High School and attended Dana College. Gwen was united in marriage to Ralph Clayton Krecklow on June 2, 1946 in Glenwood, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, David and Randy. Gwen was a teacher and then worked in the war plant during WWII. Following the war she was a telephone operator in the early 1950’s. She later worked for Glenwood Transit and Mintle’s. Gwen was a caretaker and babysitter for many families throughout the years. She had a servant’s heart and was always willing and wanting to help people in need. She loved camping, fishing, sewing, knitting, crocheting and her family was the top priority in her life. She loved all of them dearly.
Preceding Gwen in passing were her parents, husband, 3 sisters, Mary Muller, Margaret Kammerer, Rue Christensen & great-grandson, Christian Andrew Paul Vick. Survivors include her sons, David & wife Debbie Krecklow of Lincoln, NE; Randy & wife Chris Krecklow of Humboldt, IA; grandchildren, Caleb & wife Lynei Krecklow & their children, Calyn, Katie & Kennedy of Mason City, IA; Sarah Krecklow of Lincoln, NE; Adam Krecklow of Syracuse, NE; Amanda & husband Jason Vick of Lakewood, CO; Kyle Krecklow of St. Louis Park, MN; brothers, Norman Matzen of Blair, NE: Phillip & wife Myrna Matzen of Blair, NE; sister, Norma Jane Strand of Apache Junction, AZ; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Interment will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the National Tuberous Sclerosis Assoc. or Support Organization for Trisomy.

so sorry to hear of Gwen’s passing. she was one of the kindest women I’ve ever known. always had a smile and something good to eat when you were at her house. only good thoughts and prayers.

Gwen was an exceptional lady with a heart of gold. She was the kind of person who made you feel better about yourself just being with her. My condolences to the family.
