Harry Charles Hunter, Sr. 94 of Harbor City, California formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Pacific Junction, Iowa entered into rest at his home on Nov. 3, 2016. He was born May 10, 1922 in Pacific Junction, Iowa to Frank and Mary (Piatt) Hunter. Harry was united in marriage to Anna Mae Chapin on April 19, 1942 in Rockport, Missouri. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage together until her passing on December 14, 2003. He was united in marriage to Barbara June Jeffers on July 22, 2006 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They shared 10 years together until Harry went to be with the Lord.
Harry was employed as the head mail clerk for what is now Burlington Southern Pacific. He was a member of the Assemblies of God church. In his younger years, he enjoyed making his own arrows for hunting. He enjoyed raising beagles and would train them to hunt. Harry was talented in many ways and could fix anything.
Preceding Harry in passing were his parents, wife Anna, 3 sisters, 2 adult brothers, 2 infant brothers and sons, Benjamin Hunter and Donald J. Hunter. Survivors include his wife Barbara Hunter of Harbor City, California; children, Harry Charles Hunter, Jr. and wife Rosetta Hunter of Calico Rock, Arkansas; Nancy and husband Roger McIntosh of Hiawatha, Kansas; step-sons, Larry Clark, Jake Clark and Wesley Clark all of Harbor City, California; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Jay Hunter of Suffolk, Virginia; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives & friends.
Interment will be held in the Martin Chapel Cemetery, Pacific Junction, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established.
