Herman F. Stortenbecker, 87, of Silver City, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on Nov. 22, 2005 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA. He was born May 1, 1918 in Pottawattamie County to George and Mary (Voss) Stortenbecker.
Herman graduated form Treynor High School and began his farming career and livestock operation at an early age. He had a great love of the land and enjoyed every minute of his lifelong career.
Herman was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Hill on November 26, 1941 in Grant City, Missouri. To this union two sons were born, Larry and Leo. He was a known for being a conscientious operator and his properties were easily recognized for being meticulously maintained. The family continues the farming operation that Herman and Jane established.
