Jack was raised in Glenwood and graduated with the Class of 1957. He faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1964.
Jack married the love of this life, Patricia Lee Hindman on July 11, 1970 in Glenwood, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Matthew Dale and Angela Dawn. Jack was employed with the Iowa Department of Transportation. Following his retirement, he took care of mowing the grounds at the Glenwood Resource Center for 10 years. Pat and Jack were world travelers taking many seasonal trips with friends where they would spend winter months in Florida. Weekends were spent going to different wineries. Jack was also content drinking coffee on his deck and appreciated the comforts of his home. Jack was a member of the Harvey T. Being grandparents created the best times as Jack and Pat would have them over for campouts in the backyard and Easter egg hunts in the spring. Jack would take them to buy fireworks for the 4th of July and help them set off their display. He was an avid Husker fan and was also a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many people. His kind and loving personality will be treasured by all who knew him. Rest in peace until we meet again.
