In 1955-56 they moved to Bartlett, IA during this time, Jackie began to enjoy making ceramics at which she excelled. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. In fact when Candace married, she sewed the wedding dress, all of the bridesmaids and other various dresses for the wedding. She worked for the Glenwood State Hospital School for 20 years as an R.T.W. on night watch.
In Dec. of 1978, Winton passed away not long after they bought the house on Walnut Street.
