Jacquline Lea “Jackie” (Pulsifer) Wright, age 72, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Glen Haven Home in Glenwood, Iowa. She was born on March 25, 1936 in Fremont County, Iowa to Woodrow Justin and Eunice (Shutts) Pulsifer.
She attended school in Glenwood, Iowa, graduating with the class of l954. She then attended the Commerce School of Business in Omaha, Nebraska.
On August 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jerry Wright and to this union, 3 daughters and 1 son were born.
During most of her married life, she resided in Malvern, Iowa but because of failing health returned to Glenwood to live at the Glen Haven Home.
Jackie was employed at the Glenwood Resource Center for a number of years. Her love of music was well known, especially country and gospel. She was particularly fond of the Gaithers. Other interests included traveling, square dancing, shopping, (especially for shoes), and most importantly spending time with her family. She loved to sit on the patio in the evenings and sip iced tea. Although Jackie, herself, couldn’t swim, she made sure her kids received Red Cross lessons and life guard training. She was a faithful supporter of all her children’s sports activities. She will be remembered for her excellent pumpkin pies and baked beans and always for her devotion to her children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and husband, Jerry.
Survivors include daughters: Teresa (husband, Mike) Carlson of Elkhorn, Nebraska; Tonya (husband, George) Adams of Malvern, Iowa; Tammie (husband, Robert) McGrew of Emerson, Iowa; and son, Woodrow (wife, Stormie) Wright of Glenwood, Iowa; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters; Joyce (husband, Don) Cashatt of Red Oak, Iowa; Jeanne (husband, John) Lincoln and Jeri Lynn (husband, Robert) Daniels of Glenwood, Iowa and brother, Donald “Butch” (wife, Nancy) Pulsifer of Glenwood, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.
