James Allen Moore, 63 of Glenwood, IA entered into rest at his home in Glenwood on Jan. 12, 2014. He was born on May 25, 1950 in Atlantic, IA to Harold Eugene & Floma Irene (Hardisty) Moore.
James was united in marriage to Leanne Marie Kiger. Their marriage was blessed with five children, David, Robert, Michael, Connie, and Susie. James was employed at the packing plant until his retirement. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed watching various sports on T.V. In his younger years he was a talented athlete being the first state- wrestling qualifier in 1969 for Glenwood High School. His enthusiasm for athletics continued as he coached many different sports. Jim & several of his friends were instrumental in starting the Optimist Wrestling Program. He was a devoted family man and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. His keen sense of humor and wit will be remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Jim in death were his parents, wife, father-in-law, Byron Kiger and five siblings. Survivors include children, David Moore of Omaha, NE; Robert (Julie) Parham of Prosper, TX; Michael (Marnie) Moore of Dauphin, Canada; Connie (Jesse) Olson of Bellvue, NE: Susie Moore & Brandon Taylor of Glenwood, IA; 6 grandchildren, Kenny, Marshall & Annalee Moore; Cabe & Chase Parham; Gabriella Olson; sister, Connie Marrs of San Antonio, TX; brother, Paul Moore of Phoenix, AZ; mother-in-law, Carol Kiger of Glenwood, IA: sister-in-laws, Susan (Todd) Wright of Glenwood, IA; Connie (Rainer) Roedel of Portland, OR; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established.
Private interment will be held in the East Liberty Cemetery, Malvern, Iowa.
