Janice Ann Hirst, 92 of Omaha, Nebraska formerly of Glenwood, Iowa and Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away October 7, 2022 in Omaha. She was welcomed to the family of George and Mary Brower on September 7, 1930.
Janice graduated from Glenwood High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Randy McMahill and they were blessed with three daughters, Diane, Cindy and Michelle. Janice was employed as an Administrative Assistant in several churches and later for Data Documents. She was a member of The United Methodist Church all her life.
There were many memories made from family gathering and special times with each daughter. Janice’s sincere desire was that this closeness would continue even when she was no longer able to physically be a part.
She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed crafts, was a gourmet cook and a renowned cake decorator. She liked to read and play Scrabble. She was devoted in her faith and to her family and friends. Preceding Janice in passing were her parents, sister Lee Ann Simmons and son-in-law Leonard (Woody) Woods. Survivors include her daughters Diane (Lynn) Letner of Lampe, Missouri; Cindy (Jon) Empson; Michelle Woods all of Omaha, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many friends.
Interment: West Liberty Cemetery, rural Glenwood, Iowa.
The family will direct memorial donations.

Your mom will be greatly missed by all of her friends at Crown Pointe. I will deeply miss your mom. Jan always expressed her love for all of her daughters. You all meant the world to her. I know Jan will be free of pain, and one day all of you will meet again. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Sad to hear of Aunt Janice’s passing. I have fond memories of her from my childhood and have always felt sad out families were not closer. She was a lovely woman and I know all of you will miss her greatly.
