Jeanette Rose (Tolzin) Beckman, 69, of Glenwood, Iowa entered into eternal rest on February 6, 2010 at her home near Glenwood. She was born October 31, 1940 on a farm in Murray County, Minnesota to Clarence and Lenora (Dierks) Tolzin. She was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda, Minnesota. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Fulda High School. She was employed at the Fulda Citizens State Bank for two years and married Doug Beckman on June 10, 1960. To this union three children were born, Steve, Sherry and Kristi.
After their move to Glenwood in 1964, she was employed as a secretary at the Glenwood Resource Center for over 37 years. She also helped Doug with farming and accompanied him to many of his Farm Bureau Federation Director functions. Jeanette was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Glenwood Garden Club, the Red Hattitudes, loved golfing, reading, gardening and traveling. After retirement, she and Doug enjoyed their winter home in Arizona.
Preceding Jeanette in death were parents, brother, Richard Tolzin and grandson, Caleb Beckman. She is survived by her husband, Doug Beckman of Glenwood, Iowa; son, Steve & wife Paula Beckman of Boone, Iowa; daughters, Sherry & husband Mark Ford of Malvern, IA; Kristi & husband Bill Norgaard of Anthem, Arizona; 5 grandchildren, Allie & Cassie Ford; Nick & Shayla Norgaard and Josh Beckman; brothers, Bob & wife Carol Tolzin of Bloomington, Minnesota; Larry & wife Jackie Tolzin of Orange City, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and a host of friends.

I am so very sorry that Jeanette’s struggle is over. She was a wonderful person and had become a good friend through Garden Club. She will be sorely missed for a very long time.
My heartfelt sympathies to all her family, as you have had the struggle along with her and now bear the ultimate burden of her loss. We will grieve together.
