Jeanne Bower

Celebration of Life: Friday, December 29, 2023, 10:30 A.M., Peterson Mortuary, 212 S. Locust Street, Glenwood, Iowa. 

Jeanne Bower, 80, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska passed away December 8, 2023.  She was born February 7, 1943 in Red Oak, Iowa to Walter and Opal (Henderson) Stille.  Jeanne grew up in Henderson, Iowa and later the family moved to Malvern where she graduated in 1960.  Jeanne was united in marriage to LeRoy Bower on July 4, 2000 in Beaver Lake, Nebraska. She was employed for many years at Universal Inland Insurance Company, writing bonds. 

Jeanne worked at the Malvern egg plant on the line while in high school.  She shared a love of horses with her dad and there were always a couple on the family farm.  Along with her career, she had a finishing school for young women.  She went to auctions, collecting linens, dishes, quilts, and jewelry.  Her love of antiques led to opening her own shop, Antiques Off Main in Plattsmouth.  She enjoyed going out to eat, playing cards with many friends, and of course a good hot cup of coffee. 

Preceding Jeanne in death was her husband LeRoy, parents, stepson Steven Bower, and brother Bobby Stille.  Survivors include stepson Michael Bower and wife Ann Powell and their son Jack Bower of Winthrop, Washington; sister-in-law Barbara Stille of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law Barbara Asman of Des Moines, Iowa; niece Kathy (Martin) Hall of Lincoln, Nebraska, nephew Mike (Jody) Stille of Pawnee City, Nebraska, niece Kelly (Mike Waters) Leu of Clarion, Iowa, several great nieces and nephews, and many, many beloved friends and neighbors. 

Interment to be held at a later date.
