Jerry was raised in Glenwood and graduated from Glenwood High School with the Class of 1984. He graduated from Peru State College which is where he met his sweetheart Marcia Stevens in 1986. Jerry was employed with the Department of Transportation based out of Pacific Junction and Sidney. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood. Jerry was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. He coached softball for many years and enjoyed playing football and softball. Their family had many fun camping trips together. He also enjoyed the family beagle Ellie. She would snuggle up with Jerry in the evenings and they would eat cookies together. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend to those who knew and loved him. He continued the act of giving until the end by being an organ donor so others could continue living life to the fullest. His memory will live on not only in the hearts of his family and friends, but in those recipients to whom he gave hope.
