Jesse Franklin Hetzel, 84, of Malvern, Iowa entered into rest on September 18, 2022 at the Tabor Manor. He was born March 31, 1938 in Strahan, Iowa to Theodore & Osie (Hummel) Hetzel. Jesse graduated from Tabor High School in 1956. He was united in marriage to Marlys Jean Dalton on May 11, 1958 in Tabor, Iowa. To this union three sons were born, Tim, Ted and Todd.
Jesse began a career in agriculture, starting with working at the Tabor Feed Plant and eventually becoming manager. In 1969 they moved to Central City, Nebraska, and he worked for Nixon Feed in Grand Island. They moved back to Tabor in 1971 and he continued his career in the feed industry until eventually farming full time. Throughout the years Jesse served on the Tabor Fire Department and was a Rawles Township trustee. He enjoyed watching his sons’ sporting events and playing cribbage with his friends. Jesse also loved spending time with his family and was proud of his three sons, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding Jesse in passing were his wife, Marlys, three siblings, and son, Tim. Those left to mourn include his son Tim’s wife Darla of Malvern, Iowa and two sons, Trevan (Katelyn), sons Ryder and Reid and Tyler (Carolyn), son Fenwick; Ted (Angie) of Council Bluffs, Iowa and three children Brock, Meleia, Brady; Todd (Kari) of Glenwood, Iowa and children Shelby and daughter Aubree, Zach, Jaxson, Connor, Emma, Brody; extended relatives and friends.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Tabor Fire Department.

Deepest sympathy….he was a caring man and loved his family! He’s with Marlys now.
Jeff and I are so sad to hear of Jesse’s passing, We know this past year has been so very hard for him and pray for comfort and peace for his loving family.
We are so sorry to see that Jesse has passed. We know that he is at peace now and pray for God’s grace to be with the family.
