Katherine M. LaCombe, 77 of Glenwood, Iowa formerly of Red Oak, Iowa passed away February 20, 2020 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born December 1, 1942 to Charles Ogden and Janice (Cleaver) Wyant in Red Oak, Iowa. Kathy graduated from Antelope Valley High School and earned her Associate Degree at Antelope Valley Community College. She was united in marriage to Therel Stane and to this union three sons were born, Victor, Darren and Eric. Therel passed away when the boys were very young and she later married Dale LaCombe on Jan. 7, 1973 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Kathy was a member of Hillsdale United Methodist Church and U.M.W. She was the owner of H&R Block and Ponderosa for many years. Her passions were reading, sewing, crocheting and was a fan of Iowa State University. She enjoyed sports and attended many of her children and grandchildren’s events.
Preceding Kathy in passing were her parents, husband Therel O.D. Stane, siblings Letha Weil, Don Wyant and Edna Wyant.
Survivors include her husband Dale LaCombe of Glenwood, Iowa; sons Victor Ray (Carol) Stane of Silver City, Iowa; Darren Jay (Dawn) Stane of Ankeny, Iowa; Eric (Joni) Stane of Springfield, Nebraska; step-sons Mike LaCombe of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Malo LaCombe of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Eldona Lee of Glenwood, Iowa; Susan (Phil) Castle of California; Chuck (Caroleen) Wyant of Council Bluffs, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to: Glenwood Public Library, Glenwood Fire & Rescue or the American Heart Association.

I’m saddened to hear of Kathy’s passing. She will always hold a special place in my heart. The world will not be the same without her. My condolence to the Stane and Lacombe families.
I was so sorry to hear about Aunt Kathy. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
My thoughts and prayers go out the the entire family . My heart is saddened by her passing. I will always remember Kathys laugh. When she laughed everyone laughed. I’ll miss you cousin.
Stane boys I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. I remember her from when you boys were little. She was a great lady. Hugs and prayers to you and your families.
Our Hearts and Prayers are with Kathy’s Dear Family. We enjoyed many meals at the Ponderosa, with the Friends, and Dale and Kathy. Kathy was always gracious and kind. God Bless All.
