Kenneth Neal “Bud” Carlson, 91 of Glenwood, Iowa entered into rest on December 7, 2017 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on July 11, 1926 in Oakland, Nebraska to George Hector and Gladys M. (Burgoin) Carlson. Bud was raised in Silver City, Iowa and graduated from high school there in 1944. He attended Vansant Business School in Omaha, Nebraska. Bud was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Heckman on September 10, 1947 in Glenwood, Iowa. To this marriage their daughter Paula was born.
Bud worked with his father in the Chevrolet Garage. In 1952, he began working for the Silver City State Bank where he later became the Executive Vice President. He retired from there in December of 2002. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Preceding Bud in passing were his parents, step-mother, Gladys M.(Kort) Carlson and infant brother. Survivors include his daughter, Paula (Steven) Firbas; granddaughter, Elyssa (Jay) Peery and their children, Delaney and Evan all of Omaha, Nebraska; sister, Marian Fitzwater of Harlan, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Per Bud’s wishes there will be no visitation or services.
Private Interment will be held in the Silver City Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Silver City Fire and Rescue or Silver City American Legion.
