Laurie was the beloved wife of 50 wonderful years to Lawrence Meyers; cherished daughter of Lois Jean and the late Forest Mayberry of Glenwood, Iowa; loving mother of Brent (Andrea) of Wilsonville, Oregon; adored grandmother of Evan, Olivia, and Ayla Meyers; dear sister of Tim (Mary) Mayberry Glenwood, Iowa; sister-in-law to Tammy (Dwight) Gaines of Waukee, Iowa, Roger (Linda) Meyers of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and Marty Meyers of Aurora, Colorado; and many cherished nieces and nephews, countless friends, and her best four-legged friend Chewie. She is also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Lavonne Meyers, father-in-law Lawrence “Bud” Meyers, son, Bradley (Wendi, survives) Meyers, brother-in-law, Ronnie Meyers, and sister-in-law Debbie Meyers.
She attended college at Northwest Missouri State University before transferring to Iowa State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. She went on to be a stay-at-home mom to her children, Brent and Brad, taught piano lessons, and impacted many young lives teaching music and art in the Catholic school system.
Laurie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, fishing trips, antiquing, finding the sun, playing Yahtzee and reading. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy!
Laurie was profoundly loved and will be missed immensely by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Laurie’s name to the American Cancer Society.
Interment: Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, Iowa.
