Our condolences to the family
I was in shock at reading Duane’s obituary on the door at my job this morning. I am in disbelief. I find the irony of life in that it was only five months ago that I saw Duane “Haus” at his friend, Jerry Carnes’ funeral. Jerry was so appreciative of Duane’s going beyond the call of duty to drive to Jerry’s rescue when Jerry’s vehicle broke down on his way from Texas, or when Jerry needed help moving around Iowa. Jerry commented that Duane was a “true friend”. Jerry treasured his friendship with Duane and the Hastie Family. The highlight of Jerry’s week was to go to the Hastie’s and play guitar, “jam” together. My heart is heavy for your family; I am remembering your family in prayer. (Ruby Simms)
Lorraine I am so sorry for the loss of Duane. he was truly an amazing man. Prayers to all of you
So much has been lost, I don’t know where to begin.Memories of growing up together, all night bike rides, the get togethers, the music we played, me on guitar, you on bass.Like a good bassman, you were always my foundation.I know that whenever I play from now on something will always be missing.I’ll miss you for now, but keep your bass and your bike tuned up because the day will come when we will be together again and there will be music to play and bike rides to take once again.
